Jackass II

Was brilliant. I laughed like a fucking hyena, and no matter what he says, so did Jay.

My piano lesson, however, not the best, even though I practiced much more than normal.

Hypothesis: When I practice a lot in a week, I tackle new parts of the piece, and this gives Professor Dahlman a lot to criticize. When I practice little, I tend to simply go over parts I already know, which consists in polishing, giving her less to badmouth. My teacher remains awesome. I'm going to see if I can find some sheet music of the Ravel Pavane pour une infante défunte.

Just now I looked up that piece of the All Music Guide--a fantastic resource for information about classical music pieces--so I could paste and copy it to get the acute accent. I never realized the title was so macabre.

I guess my Spanish is lousier than I thought.

Wow, with such a busy life you'd think I'd have more to talk about. But I don't.

Drawn Together is a surprisingly clever and enjoyable show, and foul.

Man, the Barber Nocturne (Op.33) is fucking awesome. I'm going to scan it and analyze it, right on this very blog, in a last ditch effort to bring up my readership.

So I don't have free time anymore. I'm not sure when it vanished, but it's gone. It's not that I have so much to show for it (though a month going to the gym, and I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror), what with mediocre pianism, decent studying, and a crapload of money for a very menial job. Today, for instance, I woke up, breakfasted, went to campus, studied for an hour, had class, went to the gym, had lunch, went to work until 8, came back to campus, waited until the chapel was clear, practiced until 10:30, sang Short People by Randy Newman, then took the subway home.

I suppose I need another crush. That usually makes things interesting. If experience is any guide, it's just a matter of time.

Man, I'm always hungry anymore. Also, I used to like Dewar's, but then I made Jay drink Scotch. After I made Jay drink Scotch, Jay started liking Scotch and bought Glencoe; so we've been drinking Glencoe, which is much better. But now Dewar's tastes like crap.

How lovely life's been lately! Yesterday, had a nice talk with mom. I've been going to the gym daily, and have been gradually increasing weights. I discovered I can practice on the chapel piano at the law school, provided I don't care if people in the hallway can hear my frequent slip-ups. Jay occasionally sits in and listens. Sasha presented an excellent and interesting paper today for a Federalist Society function; nip/tuck was a homerun tonight. The weather's been cool, not hot or cold. Cute girls are abundant, smiling faces are all about, and my heart's as warm as a baked potato.

I have the wonderful suspicion that I've remembered something I should never have forgotten.
